Introduction

Hello, my name is Nile Bee and I am a graduate student in the MAT program. I am a proud father of two boy’s ages eight and two. I work two jobs, and go to school full time, so I may be hard to reach at some times, but if you email me at nilebee@gmail.com it comes directly to my phone, so that is probably the best way to reach me. I am really taking this class to further my own classroom management skills, and I am looking for new ways to reach my students. I used to be a heavy gamer, but have not had the time recently to really play. When I did play, I usually played sport games with my friends, or superhero games with my son. I liked to play because it was always fun to sit around and trash talk with my friends, and it was nice to share something with little Nile. My oldest son is a gamer, and it depends on the game itself as to whether I object to him playing. We usually tend to use the systems as motivational tool, such as good grades on his report card warrant a new game where as if he receives bad grades he loses the system completely. I do not really have a problem with Nile playing the games, because it is not overbearing on his lifestyle, he stays very active, and an hour or two of him playing the game is no different to me as if he were watching TV. In 1983, the US invaded Grenada, the Czech Republic was created, and crack cocaine was invented. The link that I chose to share takes a different look at video games, and part of the future in education if you ask me. I just wanted to show everyone that video games have a high potential despite their bad reputation.
